Window Ventilation Installation Guide

Call Us: (02) 9981-2210

These non-powered ventilators are ideal for use in rooms that require ventilation, especially laundry, toilet and  bathroom windows. RiteFlo ventilators help dry out residual moisture on walls and ceilings thus helping to reduce mould accumulation.

They operate by pressure differences of trapped air in an enclosed area in relation to the air outside
as well as  wind power and they rotate in both directions. Viewed externally, when the blades are rotating anti-clock wise the air is drawn in, clockwise the air will be drawn out.

We'll be adding more installation examples in the coming weeks.

STEP 1

Measure the window position to determine the desired location and mark the point with a permanent marker.

Draw a cross on the glass to clearly mark the centre location.

STEP 2

Set your glass cutter to the required diameter. For example, a 120mm fan will require a 60mm radius score.

Starting from the outside, score the outer circumference.

Decrease the radius or your cutter, and score another circle inside (safety circle).

Repeat, and create a third inner safety circle as shown. These are used to pick up any runs that may occur when breaking out glass.

STEP 3

You should now have three circles scored into your glass panel as shown.

STEP 4

Gently score the inner circle with a glass scorer in a criss-cross pattern.

STEP 5

VERY IMPORTANT
After scoring the glass from the outside proceed inside, and u
sing an appropriate tool, gently tap around each of the scored circumferences bringing the fracture completely through the glass.

STEP 6

Using an appropriate tool similar to the one pictured, gently tap the inner circle until the glass starts breaking away.

STEP 7

Continue the process until you have a hole big enough for your multigrip pliers or similar to fit through.

STEP 8

Gently grab small sections of the glass with you pliers, removing small chunks of the glass with each move.

STEP 9

Continue removing small sections of the inner circle until all pieces are removed.

STEP 10

Gently break away the glass from the second and third safety rings with your pliers until all of the glass within the outer circumference is removed.

STEP 11

With extreme care, lightly run your pliers around the outer and inner circumference to remove any glass shards.

STEP 12

Repeat the above process on the inside perimeter of the circle to remove any remaining glass shards.

STEP 13

Insert the fan to the outside of the window in a circular motion. You should not need to force the fan into the hole. Do NOT use any silicone adhesive.

STEP 14

Attach the backing ring to the fan from the inside firmly.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

Over tightening may cause the glass to break or fracture.

STEP 15

Your installation is complete. Ensure all glass shards are thoroughly cleaned, and the area is vacuumed prior to leaving the job site.
